Signed up on a promo and jumped between food and writing classes easily. Apps are smooth on TV and phone. Sessions with projects push me to actually try stuff.

Some of the classes are quite good. But when we finish watching a class, or want to pause and find something else to watch, there is no easy way to search for new content. We have to uninstall and reinstall the app, which is really annoying. I’ve called customer service a couple of times, and each time I had to wait more than twenty minutes before speaking to anyone. If this isn’t fixed in a week, I will be canceling our subscription.

CAUTION!!!

CAUTION!!! I signed up, but I could not access the class on my iPhone or iPad without Wi-Fi. I rely on a hotspot, so I was unable to view it. Then, I found it hard to cancel my subscription. Once Masterclass has your payment information, it’s nearly impossible to remove it or end the subscription, so they continue to charge you. I had to change my debit card because of their tricky policies. WILL NOT USE AGAIN!!!

I tried to use the 2-week free trial for MasterClass. Despite providing all my details and PayPal info, MasterClass charged me 120 € right away, even though I thought I had 2 weeks to decide on an annual membership! I’m really upset about this misleading offer and want my 120 € back now. I don't care if my profile and course access are blocked. I just want my money refunded and can’t believe this happened. I almost feel deceived. I'm disappointed and think this might be a sneaky tactic to trap people into subscriptions! I’ve been waiting for customer service to respond for 12 hours but haven’t heard anything. They didn’t even give me a Ticket Number! What’s going on?! I feel deceived and won't recommend MasterClass if their customer service stays this poor. I thought everything else was professional, but this has changed my view completely. I need to be sure I’ll get the 120 € back.

There's a lot of things to sing praises

There's a lot of things to sing praises about with Masterclass :) It's great that I can share my account with my husband; he was enamoured with James Cameron's lessons on filmmaking, and I loved listening to Neil Gaiman and Amy Tan. Between the two of us, we're probably going to listen to every single course (just because we can!) and treat it like a podcast over the year. The class guides are handy to keep and look back upon, and its great that you can download some of the classes from the app (depending upon the subscription you choose). I know there's a lot of negative reviews from people surprised to see this is an annual subscription model, and perhaps it is a little misleading to show the monthly fee on the initial page. It does say 'billed annually' though, and advises the full amount being debited on the next screen. I subscribed a few days before a promotional event, and Masterclass' Customer Service Team were kind enough to honour the promotional cost, replying to my query immediately. Another bonus is that if it isn't for you, you can get a full refund after 30 days.

This company charged me for 2 years despite my cancellation emails. Even after contacting them minutes after payment, they won't cancel or refund. Ignorant and greedy compny.
